Storage Heater and Custom Guards are Norfolk Industries main product. We have a large range of standard items for storage heaters, however, should these not be suitable we should be able to make up a custom item to suit your heater dimensions.

CUSTOM GUARDS

Custom guards are made from 1" square mesh or "2"x1" rectangular mesh and can be dipped in either white or 'Dimplex' willow white. Guards are made as a safety item and are designed to ensure a minimum of 80mm clearance between the heater and the guard (BSEN 60529). This clearance prevents fingers from touching the heater. To conform with Trading Standards Directives, no access to the controls is provided, as hands may well be able to gain acess to the hot surfaces of the heater. We can however provide skirting cut-outs if the required dimensions are provided.

Custom guards can also be produced with keyhole lugs which allow the guard to be lifted from the wall, either to adjust the controls or for cleaning purposes.

In order for us to make custom guards to your requirements, we need precise dimensions of your heater. i.e. we would need the HEIGHT (from the floor to the top of the radiator), the WIDTH (from left to right, normally including the valves if any), and the DEPTH (from the wall out to the front of the heater).

Right - White polyethylene coated 2"x1" mesh custom guards. These guards are made with a sloping top to mimic the shape of many types of heater. They provide the same safety element as the 1" square mesh guards but many customers say they look less obtrusive.

PLEASE NOTE THAT BECAUSE OF THE WAY THEY ARE CONSTRUCTED THESE GUARDS HAVE SIZE LIMITATIONS

These particular guards can be designed to suit light fittings, low surface temperature heaters, smoke alarms, in fact virtually anything without a high heat output. As there is little or no heat involved they can be made to a much tighter specification than normal heater guards.
