Norfolk Industries is a sheltered workshop offering employment opportunities to disabled and disadvantaged people in Norfolk and Suffolk. To supplement the cost of this service delivery, and to provide a realistic working environment, the business manufactures products for sale in the market.
With a long standing history, Norfolk Industries has been involved in the manufacture of goods in Norwich in line with supporting disabled staff for over 200 years and now remains one of the last manufacturing businesses in the city. To read more interesting facts on our history, Click here
Wire Department
Very recently, a decision has been made to close the Wire Department which, for many years has produced quality wire work such as storage heater guards, golf equipment and shop fittings. In recent years, this department has struggled to maintain a required level of income against costs. Mainly due to cheap foreign imports and a move to plastics in many instances, coupled with expensive finishing costs, this has resulted in a general lowering level of sales.
Pet Bedding Department
This department has been steadily growing over recent years, and has recently gained some export work resulting in goods being sent to Spain and Japan.
Concentrating on manufacturing Pet Bedding products from waste paper materials such as food grade papers, j cloth and viscose fibre, Norfolk Industries prides itself on designing the product to suit the animal. Aimed at hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, mice, rabbits, ferrets, chinchilla and degu, we use only the highest quality raw materials available.
